Over the past several days, we have been closely monitoring the Cal-Wood Fire, in partnership with the Boulder Office of Emergency Management and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. Firefighting crews have done an outstanding job containing the northern spread of the fire, but we know that wildfires can be unpredictable and we must remain vigilant and prepared for any changes to the fire’s activity. Out of an abundance of caution, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Department has requested that we close our schools in Lyons to in-person learning for Tuesday and Wednesday, in the event the fire shifts direction, which may require additional evacuations.
Beginning Monday, October 5, we will be implementing a hybrid in-person learning schedule for all students who are not currently enrolled in the LaunchED program. Click here to learn more. Comenzando el lunes 5 de octubre, estaremos implementando un programa de aprendizaje híbrido en persona para todos los estudiantes que no estén inscritos actualmente en el programa LaunchED. Since 1999, Burlington has identified the top three to five percent of students in each grade level and placed them in high-ability clusters for language arts and math in the First through Fifth grades. Starting in school year 2009-2010, Burlington was able to use a district-approved reading curriculum designed to promote advanced reading standards for students through the Gifted and Talented (GT) classroom. St. Vrain Valley School district events for the GT program include Night of Stars (October), Invention Convention (November), Geometry Contest (January), Equations Game Day (February), Day of Giving (April), and Shakespeare (May). Find out more information about GT programs at the SVVSD website.
