Co-Curricular Activities

VEX Competitive Robotics

Burlington Elementary offers the opportunity for students in grades 4 and 5 to join one of our competitive VEX Robotics teams that competes in events and competitions with other schools across the district.

School Musical

Each year the students, with help from faculty advisers, present a musical. They have performed  Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in the past.

Field Day

Physical activity is important part of Burlington, and each spring we celebrate this with a Field day full of fun events for each grade. Parents and guardians are encouraged to come watch as the students test their accuracy throwing rubber chickens, trying to catch water balloons, and race through the obstacle course.

Student Council

The Student Council at Burlington Elementary consists of students in the Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grades who want to participate in activities that promote leadership. Students must exhibit qualities of responsibility and appropriate behavior to be part of the program.

Student Council members are responsible for designing playground rules with advice from the Physical Education (PE) teacher and an administrator. They also plan and promote spirit days during the school year. Community service is promoted as students work at our B-Beautiful days, Fall Ball, Burlington Bistro, Spring Carnival, and Field Day.

If you are a Third, Fourth, or Fifth Grader who wants to get involved in Student Council, let your teacher know. Your teacher will put you in touch with a Student Council adviser.
