School Overview

Welcome to Burlington! We are so glad you are here. We are a school rooted in tradition and community. We prepare our students to be trailblazers by inspiring and developing curiosity, caring relationships, and mindsets to embrace opportunities and face any challenge. Students leave Burlington ready to explore and lead our local and global communities.

In partnership with our community, Burlington Elementary celebrates creative, curious citizens who learn through experiences. We empower students to reach their full potential by nurturing and encouraging inquisitive minds and kind hearts. Every student, every day.

We do this through:

  • Utilizing evidence-based teaching practices
  • Social Emotional Learning
  • Design Thinking
  • Project Based Learning
  • School-wide behavior expectations
  • Robust extracurricular activities

Burlington was recognized by the Colorado Department in both 2014 and 2017 as one of five “high achieving” elementary schools in Colorado. The values that guide our work are relationships, inclusion, curiosity, and growth as we focus on supporting both the academic and social-emotional growth of our students. Through robust support in a small school environment, Burlington teachers and staff work to recognize students’ individual needs and help them connect with their world outside of school. Additionally, Burlington provides many opportunities to enhance the interests and talents of students. From robotics to musical theater to 100 Mile Club, students participate and excel in before- and after-school activities.

Burlington Elementary also has a strong STEM program with an emphasis on connecting students to the natural world. Through our Geodesic outdoor classroom that was opened in 2020, students engage with hands-on learning in ecosystems and sustainability.

We know that strong partnerships and teamwork with our families and community are essential to the success of our students and we work hard to build trusting relationships with students and their caregivers. Together is better!

Trailblazers Together! Explore! Create! Lead!
